AdminExile Pro 3.16.3 is a Joomla system plugin for restricting access to the administrator login page with a secret URL key. Requests that do not contain the required key can be redirected away from the backend, reducing direct exposure of the standard administrator login form. The version described here also includes IP access rules, white and black lists, key recovery and reporting options for failed access attempts.
The plugin protects the administrator entry point rather than replacing Joomla authentication itself. A visitor must first use the configured access key before the normal backend login form becomes available.
Unauthorized requests can be redirected to the homepage, a 404 page or another configured destination. This helps prevent automated requests from repeatedly reaching the standard administrator login screen.
IP restrictions provide another way to control who can reach the backend. White and black lists can be maintained when access should be limited to known networks or when repeated unwanted sources need to be blocked.
AdminExile 3.16.3 also provides recovery and reporting functions that existed in this older generation of the plugin. Current AdminExile versions have since been redesigned, so this page describes the behavior of the 3.x release rather than the modern Joomla 5 edition.
