GDPR v2.27 is the latest version of a Joomla component designed to help website owners manage GDPR-related privacy requirements.
It provides tools for handling personal data and user consent, including requirements related to visitors from the European Union.
The extension includes cookie classification and consent management, with the ability to block local cookies until consent is given. Other features include multi-level consent control, consent change logs, visitor cookie consent records, privacy policy tags for forms, and integrations with other Joomla extensions.
A new consent policy versioning feature has been added in version 2.27. Each stored consent now keeps a SHA-256 hash and a snapshot of the policy text that was presented to the visitor at the time of consent. This means that if the privacy or consent policy is changed later, previous consent records can still be associated with the exact version of the policy that was accepted.
The consent registry exports have also been improved. CSV and XLS files now place the policy hash and policy evidence in separate columns without HTML markup, making the exported records easier to review and process. The update also adds new Gemini and ChatGPT models to the available AI model lists.
