JLex Transfer 1.0.2 is a Joomla migration component for moving selected data between two Joomla websites. The version described here is intended for transferring data from Joomla 3.x to Joomla 4.x and can copy articles, categories, local media files, users and profile information. It can also transfer module configuration, which can reduce the amount of manual recreation required when preparing a new Joomla installation.
JLex Transfer is installed on both the source and destination websites. The transfer is then handled between the two Joomla installations rather than by manually exporting each supported data type separately.
For content, the component can move article data together with categories and local files such as images, video and audio. User information can also be transferred, including groups and profile data where those fields are available.
Module settings are another supported part of the migration process. This can be useful when a new Joomla site is being prepared with a similar module setup and the administrator wants to avoid reproducing every configuration by hand.
The extension is intended as a migration aid, not as a replacement for a full site backup. A complete backup of both installations should still be kept before transferring production data.
