Item Rating 2.1.6 is a Joomla and K2 rating extension for adding several evaluation criteria to the same item. Administrators can create rating groups, define their own criteria and choose how scores are presented, including stars, percentage bars, icons and thumbs up or down. The extension can also add ratings to supported VirtueMart and HikaShop products and provides frontend and backend voting options.
Rating groups make it possible to evaluate an item by more than one measure instead of reducing every review to a single score. Each criterion can be configured separately and then presented as part of the overall rating block.
Several visual formats are available for displaying scores. The version described here includes different final-grade layouts as well as stars, percentage indicators, icons and positive or negative voting controls.
Integration with VirtueMart and HikaShop allows the rating system to be used on product pages in addition to Joomla or K2 content. The original extension also lists integrations with My Maps Location, Community Builder and SP Page Builder.
Voting can be available from the frontend while administrators retain management controls in the backend. Custom styling can be used when the default rating layouts need to match a particular Joomla template.
