Shack Article Sharing 2.0.3 is a Joomla content plugin for adding social sharing controls to articles. It supports Facebook sharing and Like functions together with Twitter posting, and it can generate Open Graph metadata used when Joomla pages are shared on Facebook. Administrators can control the text that is prepared for social sharing instead of relying only on the visible article title and page content.
The plugin can add sharing controls to Joomla articles and blog content, giving visitors a direct way to share the page without the site owner inserting buttons manually into every article.
Facebook integration includes Open Graph metadata as well as Share and Like controls. The metadata helps Facebook identify information from the Joomla page when a link is shared.
Twitter sharing can pre-fill text for the visitor, and the prepared content can be adjusted in the plugin settings. This provides more control over the message associated with a shared article.
Version 2.0.3 included fixes for Open Graph image URLs and category handling across Joomla 3 through Joomla 5. The current Joomlashack changelog also lists the extension as available for newer Joomla releases.
The Shack Article Sharing plugin utilizes Facebook's Open Graph meta tags, which are an important tool for social sharing on this platform. These meta tags allow Facebook to recognize key information about your site, which promotes better social media engagement.
