Sociable 3.1.5 is a Joomla community extension for building social-network and membership websites. It provides user profiles with custom fields and avatars, community groups, activity updates, comments and reactions. Registration options and profile types help organize different kinds of members, while administration and moderation tools give site owners control over users and published community activity.
Members can create profiles and take part in groups, publish updates and respond to other users through comments and reactions. Custom profile fields make it possible to collect information that is relevant to the type of community being built.
Profile types and registration settings can be used to separate different member roles. This is useful for clubs, educational communities, business networks and membership sites where not every user should have the same profile structure.
Administration tools cover user management, activity approval and email templates. Notifications and invitations help members keep track of community activity and invite other users to join.
Sociable also includes badges, reward points and referral functions. These features can be enabled when a site wants to recognize member activity or use a referral process as part of community growth.
