Advance Product Filter for VirtueMart 1.5 is a Joomla module for filtering VirtueMart products with AJAX. Visitors can narrow catalog results by fields such as product name, price, category, manufacturer, rating, size, weight, color and height, depending on the data available in the store. Filters update the product selection without requiring a complete page reload, which is useful for larger VirtueMart catalogs.
The module is intended to help visitors reduce a large product list to items that match specific criteria. Category and manufacturer filters can be combined with product properties such as price, size, weight or color.
AJAX processing updates the results while the visitor changes filter values. This keeps the search process on the same page and avoids sending the user through a separate search form for every adjustment.
Rating and product-name search provide additional ways to narrow the catalog. The usefulness of each filter depends on the information stored in the VirtueMart products, so shops can focus the interface on the attributes that matter for their catalog.
Advance Product Filter is therefore most useful on VirtueMart stores with enough products and attributes that normal category browsing alone is not sufficient for finding a suitable item.
