J2Commerce 6.6.4 is an eCommerce extension for Joomla 6 that turns regular Joomla articles into product pages and provides the tools needed to run an online store directly from the Joomla administration area.
Version 6 is built on Joomla's native architecture and no longer depends on the F0F framework or jQuery. This redesigned foundation provides closer integration with Joomla 6, while support for Bootstrap 5 and UIkit 3 allows the storefront to work with different template frameworks.
Product management is based on Joomla's familiar content system. Articles can be converted into products without maintaining a separate content structure. The store can handle physical goods, downloadable products and virtual services, with options, product variants, categories, custom fields and other catalog settings. This approach makes it possible to manage product information alongside the rest of the website content.
Inventory controls help prevent orders for unavailable items. Stock quantities can be assigned to products, and an item is automatically marked as out of stock when its available quantity reaches zero. Discount coupons and promotional offers provide additional ways to adjust prices and run sales campaigns. More specialized features, including wholesale discounts and reward points, can be added through the J2Commerce marketplace.
The checkout process uses AJAX to update customer information and order details without repeatedly reloading the page. Stores can use a single-page or multi-step checkout flow. Customer profiles bring together contact details, addresses and order history, while the administration area provides tools for reviewing and managing customers, orders and their status.
Payment and shipping options can be adapted to the requirements of the store. Shipping rates can be configured using conditions such as delivery zones, weight, item quantity or order value. Additional payment gateways, carrier integrations and other store functions are available through extensions, allowing the core installation to be expanded as needed.
J2Commerce also provides customizable storefront layouts and multilingual support. Its ecosystem includes additional applications, plugins, modules and integrations for extending product displays, checkout, marketing, shipping, payments and store management.
The 6.6.4 release adds descriptions beneath product option labels, shipping-method conditions for email templates and support for displaying custom checkout fields in the administrator's order view. It also improves custom product-type integration and adds clearer notices when coupons or vouchers are disabled. Several fixes address product options, variants, layouts and structured product data.
