VirtueMart Essentials 2.3 is a Joomla package that adds Quick View, Compare and Wishlist functions to VirtueMart. Customers can preview products without opening the full product page, compare selected items and save products to a wishlist. The package uses AJAX and includes modules and button-placement options so these functions can be added to different VirtueMart layouts.
Quick View allows product information to be opened in a compact view instead of taking the customer to a separate product page for every item.
The Compare function lets visitors select several products and review them together. Custom fields can be included in the comparison so differences between product options are easier to see.
Wishlist support provides a way to save selected products for later. A separate module can display wishlist or comparison information in another position on the Joomla page.
Buttons can be placed automatically or manually depending on the shop layout. VirtueMart Essentials is therefore intended to add common browsing tools to VirtueMart without replacing the normal catalog and product pages.
