CW Multicategories 4.3.2.0 is a Joomla component that allows one article to be published in multiple categories. It extends the standard Joomla article workflow with a multi-category selector while retaining Joomla ACL, SEF URLs and article modules. The component also adjusts breadcrumbs according to the category path from which an article is opened, which is useful on news and magazine sites where the same article belongs in more than one section.
The component adds a category-selection interface to article editing so editors can assign several categories instead of choosing only one. A Smart Chosen layout is available for managing the selected categories and their order.
Joomla access rules remain part of the category selection process. Editors only see categories allowed by their permissions, which helps the multi-category workflow fit existing backend roles.
Articles can continue to work with Joomla's native article modules and other extensions that use the standard Joomla article model. This reduces the need for a separate content system just to support multi-category publishing.
Breadcrumb handling takes the current category path into account when an article is reached through different sections. The extension is therefore aimed at sites where the same story or article needs to appear naturally in several category structures.
