Mx News Display 4.0.19 is a Joomla module for showing articles in configurable news layouts. Administrators can select categories, include or exclude child-category content, filter by tags and control how featured articles are handled. The module also provides multiple ordering options, allowing news blocks to be arranged by article order, title, ID, hits, publication dates or random order depending on the purpose of the page.
The module uses Joomla article content, so existing news and blog posts can be reused without maintaining a separate set of module items. Category depth settings determine whether content from nested categories should be included.
Tag selection provides another way to narrow the source material. Featured articles can be shown, hidden or used exclusively, which is useful for homepage blocks that should contain only specifically selected content.
Ordering can follow Joomla article order or use fields such as title, ID, hits, creation date, modification date and publication dates. Random ordering is also available for sections where the content should rotate.
These source and ordering controls allow the same News Display module to be configured for recent news, featured stories or category-specific sections while leaving the original Joomla articles unchanged.
