Direct Alias Pro 3.1.3 is a Joomla plugin for creating shorter SEF URLs by removing parent menu aliases from selected links. Instead of keeping the full menu hierarchy in the address, the plugin can use the alias of the final item, producing cleaner URLs without changing the Joomla menu structure itself. It also supports redirects from old addresses and can work together with Falang on multilingual websites.
The plugin is intended for Joomla sites where menu nesting creates unnecessarily long URLs. Administrators can keep the existing menu organization for navigation while using a shorter public address for selected pages.
When a URL changes, Direct Alias Pro can redirect the previous address to the new one with a 301 redirect. This helps preserve access to older links and reduces the chance of visitors reaching an outdated URL after aliases are changed.
Falang compatibility allows the same approach to be used on multilingual Joomla installations. Alias handling can therefore remain part of the normal language workflow instead of requiring a separate URL solution for translated pages.
Version 3.1.3 belongs to the Joomla 3.9 and Joomla 4 generation of the plugin. Its main function is URL simplification and alias control rather than broader metadata or content optimization.
