Universal AJAX Live Search 5.4.7 is a Joomla search extension that displays results while a visitor is typing. It provides several prepared search themes, supports touch interaction on mobile devices and can show the result panel over the current page instead of sending the user immediately to a separate search view. The extension also supports third-party Joomla components, allowing the same search interface to work with more than standard Joomla content.
Search results are loaded dynamically, so visitors can see matching content before submitting a traditional search form. This can shorten the path to an article, product or other supported item when the site contains a large amount of content.
The package includes several themes that change the appearance of the search field and result panel. CSS effects and animations can be used as part of the presentation, while theme controls provide a starting point for matching the search module to the Joomla template.
Touch support is included for mobile use. The result panel can appear over the existing page content, allowing users to review suggestions without leaving the page after every search attempt.
Support for third-party components is an important part of the extension. On sites where content is spread across different Joomla extensions, Universal AJAX Live Search can provide a more consistent search interface instead of limiting results to standard articles.
