Layer Slideshow 2.0.6 is a Joomla slider extension for creating slides with multiple independently configured layers. Each slide can contain background, text, image or combined image-and-text layers, and individual effects can be applied to those elements. The extension includes five themes, drag-and-drop editing, width controls and built-in image-management options.
The layer-based structure allows several elements to appear on the same slide instead of limiting each slide to a single image and caption. This is useful for banners and presentations that require separate text and image positioning.
Drag-and-drop controls are used to arrange the layers. Backgrounds and other visual elements can be selected and adjusted without creating the complete slide layout manually.
Five prepared themes are included, and display and navigation styles can be configured from the extension settings. Both full-width and fixed-width presentations are supported.
The source description also lists support for third-party extensions and a built-in image manager. Layer Slideshow therefore focuses on layered slide construction and presentation rather than a basic image-only carousel.
