Before that action, the article shows a placeholder image with a button instead of the live map. Maps are inserted with the plugin syntax, making the two-click behavior available inside normal Joomla content.
When the page first opens, Google Maps is not loaded. The visitor sees the placeholder and decides whether to activate the external map content.
This approach prevents data from being sent to Google before the click and can also reduce the amount of external content loaded during the initial page request.
To add a map, the required map ID is placed inside the plugin syntax described by the extension. After activation, the placeholder is replaced by the actual Google Maps content.
